  • Thank you for speaking precisely and slowly. Sometimes Many people with similar vocal accents talk very hurriedly ; which distorts the words making "How To" videos pointless for english speakers. I watched some other video on a different topic and the instructor was like alvan and the chipmunks. =D

  • When given the opportunity to initially login to either the network ip of the RPI or to use the name of the network device, which is raspberrypi.mshome.net, per the video, then use the long raspberrypi.mshome.net option. It is possible that a different ip address is assigned when you reinsert the SD card and power up again. At least this is what happened to me. Another note, I was unable to get beyond the command startlxde. The RPI reported Command Not Found. At this time I am simply taking some other steps, although I might return here later. I liked the video. Also, I am using this video on a RPI 4 Model B, sitting here at my kitchen table. Also, I installed Raspbian Buster Lite, and maybe this version does not directly support the startlxde command. I did learn a lot from this video. Thanks to Saravanan AL.

  • i am going to have a stack of pi like sbc's having usb's and probably no ethernet (if there is ethernet we use it if not we connect via usb) … these will be accessed over ssh by a "control computer" (typically a laptop) … it is a stack which is experimental but production version could have 100's of them for super computing … you said ssh file will be deleted … how to have ssh file on every power up of pi's? … all operations you show seem tedious and requiring human to gain access of each pi which would not be practical when they will be in 100's … otherwise video is informative … thank you … your tamil affected pronunciation is not affecting understanding here because it is a video and we can piece together meaning by looking at action you perform … but you are pronouncing "cord" for "card" which can confuse in other videos / audios

But I have a problem. I can't see my pi when I scan the ip range in the ip scanner. In the ethernet settings it says the pi's ip is 192.168.137.1, I scanned for 192.168.137.1-254 and only my laptop shows up with the same ip I mentioned.
Even worse, I clicked on "Obtain an IP address automatically" and now no address shows up in the sharing center.
    Anybody has an idea?

  • Great job. Works with wifi too. I'd rather not use wifi so that I don't have to log onto someones network to make my setup work (simulated PdP11). But switching from CLI to GUI does not work as shown using either ether net cable or wifi. The server appears to start (CLI prompt goes away and a ctrl Z results in a message that the server stopped) but the display does not change to GUI. Neither startx nor startlxde work. Does the GUI require the use of VNC?
